Emily Ades is a seasoned advocate and nonprofit leader committed to empowering individuals and communities. With extensive experience in public policy, corporate social responsibility, and the nonprofit sector, Emily is passionate about helping organizations design and implement CSR strategies that drive meaningful, transformative change. Emily is driven by the belief that social good and business success can (and should) go hand in hand.
She started her career as a tenured award-winning public school teacher in a historically under-resourced community. She earned two masters degrees in Urban Education and Literacy/ Curriculum Development.
She served as an elected official for The NYC Community Education Council. She was an administrator of a non-profit after school program and the co-founder and curriculum developer for an early childhood literacy program.
Emily was appointed on the Portfolio Planning team for Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s landmark school reform initiative. She spearheaded data-driven strategies that reshaped K–12 schools across Queens and Staten Island, improving access to quality education.
Emily was the Executive Director of Education at The Rising Stars Youth Foundation where she pioneered and designed an innovative program that breaks barriers, creating pathways to educational access and equity for student-athletes from marginalized and underrepresented communities.
In 2020, during the height of the global pandemic, Emily founded IMPACT 100 NYC to reshape philanthropy during one of the most challenging times in our city’s history. By raising $1.5 million (so far!) in $1,000 contributions, Impact 100 NYC has empowered women to directly fund and amplify NYC nonprofits driving real change. The community Emily built—now over 500 strong—has granted life-changing resources to organizations tackling New York City's most pressing needs.
Currently, she works as the inaugural Director of The Kinnect Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the fashion brand, Kith. She strategically leads Kith’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts by harnessing the brand’s cultural influence to create lasting social impact. Emily built the Kinnect Scholars Program, a mentorship and internship initiative empowering high school students with career access and leadership development.
Through innovative brand partnerships and community-driven programs, she has created a dynamic model of philanthropy that transforms lives.
